I think that’s all my fulmar photos sorted out and uploaded. These birds are not seagulls, they’re more closely related to the albatross. They drink sea water while on the wing and that funny thingie on their beaks is a salt filtration system that removes excess salt from their bodies. Love spending time with them when they arrive to nest.

These are the real long distance migrating birds, all the others are merely weekend holiday makers. These terns visit both poles, north and south, every year. They circumnavigate planet earth every year. During their travels, they stop off in Brora to raise a few chicks along the beach. They’re just arriving now. Hey, if these guys are dive bombing you, get away from their nests. They lay eggs on the beach, on the ground, and if they’re dive bombing you, watch where you’re putting your feet.

Met this fella up at Berriedale one evening, while I was on my way to spend time with the puffins. He has a beak full of din dins for his chicks. The nest was nearby, and I could have spied on him to find out where it was, but I was more interested in the puffins that day.

This is the only photo I have of a lark. Nice to see them returning.

Summer arrived today, it’s gorgeous out there. Went for a walk along the beach this morning and took a few fun panos.

Amazing the things you see while out walking with a camera. I see light flowing from the sky to the sea. That's Ben Horn in the distance. That was a nice walk.

I've been watching these 4 young ravens grow up since they hatched from eggs. Won't be long before they'll be leaving the nest I shouldn't think.

Had another go at this one. I think I hold back too much sometimes. I need to really start bringing colour and contrasts out more.

Here are a few images of kittiwakes nesting on the cliffs at Berriedale. Love spending time around Berriedale, especially when birds are nesting.
